2up Rules
Game rules for 2 up:
- Any number of players can play two-up.
- A circle is drawn on the floor which must be at least 20 feet in diameter.
- A boxer runs the game and controls the bets which are laid on the outcome of the spin.
- The boxer calls "come in spinner" and the spinner enters the ring from between the players.
- The spinner's aim is to spin heads 3 times ("headed them") in order to collect the winnings.
- Once this is done, the spinner can either bet or retire.
- The spinner places 2 coins - one head up, one tail down - on to the kip, which is a flat piece of wood used to toss the coins.
- The coins must be spun to 1 metre above the spinner's head.
- A spin result of one head and one tail is referred to as "oned them" and is classed as a 'no throw'. The spinner then continues with the toss until a result is achieved.
- A spin result of 2 tails ("tailed them") is classed as a loss for the spinner.
- The spinner also loses if odds are thrown 5 times in a row.
