If your special someone’s birthday is coming up, then you should be prepared to treat them as best as you can. What better way to show them how much you love them other than preparing a marvelous birthday bash just for them? This is great and thoughtful- anyone would appreciate this. So, now that you’ve decided to go this route, you should know a few things before you get started. Luckily for you, this is the place to be. Let’s create a checklist for you, it’ll make sure that you have everything you need to plan the big day ahead.

What Will Your Venue Be?

Probably the most important part of planning the birthday is getting the venue for the occasion. This obviously defers per formality of the function. But keep in mind to choose a place that is enjoyable for everyone such as a party boat cruise. Make sure that the venue is booked in advance as you may not be able to obtain it.

Once your venue is covered, see that you have the furniture sets rented accordingly. For example, if you choose to have the party in the garden of a fancy local estate, then you need to rent furniture for the seating and a gazebo to be under. But, this is not always the case, such as if you decide to have it at your own home, or at a hotel’s ballroom.

Who Will Your Guests Be?

Your guests need to be planned ahead of time, way before you decide on your venue as you need to decide on the number of people that will be attending. With this in mind, you can begin to look into if the venue can hold the masses, or the preferences of food which is needed for catering as you don’t want to serve anyone who is allergic that very something!

And, with your guests in mind, you can decide on another aspect of the event. This is as you can tell if person x, y or z will be able to come out to your venue if it is far. If so, you know to change adjust the location.

What Will You Do About Catering?

The food being served sets the tone for the party. If it’s a morning party, you’d be better off serving lighter, fresher foods- especially if the bash takes place outdoors. If it’s a night event, make the foods more elaborate- but make sure it fits with the formality of the occasion. Such as pizza, pastries and sandwiches if it’s a kids party, but lasagna, salad and roast chicken if it’s an adults party.

And as mentioned, also be sure that you know your guest’s eating preferences. You need to know the foods they are allergic to as well as the types of food they don’t eat, such as if they’re vegan, pescatarian or vegetarian.

You now have a basic checklist that will help you plan any party! Excited?
